Arka Montessori Academy got its roots from Brenda Berleth. Mrs. Berleth opened the first Montessori School in 1984. Her ideals were clear. As a mother of two, she built the school she had always envisioned for own children but could never find. Her schools offered a home-like atmosphere, with a competitive curriculum and an unparalleled nutritional menu cooked fresh daily by their on-site chef. Ms. Berleth was also passionate about finding qualified teachers.
Mrs. Revathy Gandu was one of the Lead Teachers at Ms. Berleth’s Montessori School. She fell in love with Dr. Maria Montessori’s teaching methodology for children. When she was not home caring for her own children, Mrs. Revathy found great joy in teaching her students at the school. When it came time for Ms. Berleth to step away from owning the schools she had built, Mrs. Revathy was eager to continue its legacy. She bought the school she worked at in 2009 and never looked back! Mrs. Revathy continued to teach at her school and always pushed to uphold the original values of her mentor with uncompromised quality.
A new adventure began when Mrs. Revathy realized it was time to look for a bigger school for their growing community. In 2019, Mrs. Revathy sought to make the new school a reality. She decided the best thing to do was to build from the ground up! The newly built, free-standing school of her dream was ready for a new name as well. Arka Montessori Academy was named and opened in 2021, dedicated to providing only the best Montessori care for their students and families.
